Louis Anthony Latham, Jr. (Tony, Coach T) , 56, of Sedona, AZ, passed away on June 1, 2021. Originally from Ewing and Hightstown, NJ, Tony was the son of the late Shirlee and step-father Charlie Smith of Hightstown, NJ and his father, the late Louis A. Latham and surviving step-mother, Beatrice Latham of Yaphank, NY.
He was surrounded in death by several loved ones including his loving sister, Andrea M. Latham (Fausto Succi) of Warwick, RI and the love of his life, Theresa Steigelman Kulpinski, along with other family, including Theresa’s son, Alexander Kulpinski (Rose Krison) of Tempe, AZ, and daughter Maisie (Kulpinski) El-ters (Shaun El-ters) of Flagstaff, AZ. He is survived by his beautiful niece, Gianna Succi (Warwick, RI), along with his brother, Joseph Latham of Virginia Beach, VA. The cremation services were private.
Tony was an avid Jets fan and will wear number 60 for his remaining time in heaven. Tony was a distinguished member of the NJ Sector PGA of America for 35 years and golf fanatic. He played intercollegiate golf at Trenton State College, joining the pro-circuit in 1986. His professional golf expertise was shared at Copper Hill Country Club, Greenacres Country Club, and Jumping Brook Country Club. Tony also owned the Ewing Golf Center and created the First Tee of Greater Trenton in 1995. He retired his golf career at Royce Brook Country Club where his PGA-Junior Golf Team made it to the National finals 5 times, including an appearance in the title match in 2017, by winning both NJ State and Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships those seasons. These accomplishments and willingness to go the extra mile earned him the honor of being named the NJPGA Section Junior Gold Leader Award in 2013. In 2018, Tony located to Sedona, Arizona, reacquainting with his best friend from college and worked for the US Census Bureau.
The family would like to thank the several aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends, along with Tony’s extended golf family, for the outpouring of love and support.
