Lottie O’Sella Musser Rigney, 77, of 700 Ridgecrest Drive, Danville died at her residence Friday, January 28, 2011. Born July 24, 1933 in Wythe County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. Musser Jr. and the late Perdita Farson Musser Williams. She is survived by her husband, James Flournoy Rigney, Sr. Lottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was always actively involved in the community and was a supporter of the Mt. Hermon Volunteer Fire and Rescue. She was an active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was very active in the Pittsylvania County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. She was a retired high school teacher having taught in the Pittsylvania County School system at Brosville High School and Tunstall High School. She is survived by a daughter, Perdita Diane Reynolds of Danville; a son, James “Jimmy†Flournoy Rigney, Jr. and wife, Patty also of Danville; a sister Priscilla M. Hall and husband, Bill of Crockett, VA and a brother, Ernest C. Musser, III and wife, Lois of Rural Retreat. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James “Jay†R. Rigney and wife, Kristin, Katherine “Katie†R. Rohrig and husband, Will, Brittney R. Rudd and husband, Adam, and Harry Lea Reynolds, III and wife, Misty.
