Torrington— Lorrie Jean (Thrall) O’Connell, 50, of South Main Street, died, August 9, 2011 at Yale New Haven hospital after a long illness. She formerly lived in Watertown, Oakville and Waterbury.

Ms. O’Connell was born August 31, 1960 in Torrington, daughter of Janet (Nevin) Thrall of Torrington and the late Leonard Thrall. Lorrie was a Wilby High School graduate and most recently she worked at Chase Collegiate as a cook in which she had a passion for. Trinity was her love of her life as such a grandchild can be. At any moment, Lorrie would stop and play with her. Her energy was felt by many people as she showed how much she loved her family and friends.

Besides her mother, Janet, she is survived by a son, Robert O’Connell of Waterbury, a daughter, Amy O’Connell of Torrington and formerly of Waterbury, her brothers, Lenny Thrall Jr. and his wife Linda of Hamden, Robert Thrall and his wife Diane of N. Hollywood, CA, her sisters, Marie Meserole and her husband Gilbert of Branford, Lynn Thrall of Oakville, Jane Nemence of Torrington, Judy Skiranich of Oakville and Diane Capaldo of Wolcott, her grandchild, Trinity of Torrington and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was pre-deceased by a brother Peter Thrall in 2004.
