Lorraine Harwood (nee Boerboon)
February 3, 1919 – April 12, 2017
Age 98. Passed away unexpectedly. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Van Harwood, daughter Janet Skarda, six brothers and four sisters. Survived by her sister Joan Boerboon; daughter Carol Skarda (John Elroy); son Greg Skarda (Sharon); step-children Michael (Susan), Randall (Sandy), Val (Steve Laugtug); grandchildren Lisa Morrigan, Therese (Bob Carruth) Skarda, Lisa (Cory) O’Brien, Paula (Mike) Michalik, great grandchildren Ashley, Michael, Ben, Nick, Megan, Alex and Peter; many nephews and nieces and countless friends. A special thank you to Paula Reinke, her friend and neighbor. Lorraine will always be remembered for her home cooking, especially her lemon meringue pie, her positive attitude and her laughter. Lorraine loved playing cards, bowling, knitting and hand quilting. Many of her quilts took ribbons at the State Fair. She was still reading a book a week and proudly lived on her own.
