North Greenbush – Lorraine Janice Sliter, of Glenwood Road died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, on her 72nd birthday at her residence after a long illness.
Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Clarence C. Sliter and Adriana Hendricks Sliter. She resided in North Greenbush in the family home all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1963.
Ms. Sliter was a secretary for J. Kenneth Fraser Consulting Engineers in Rensselaer, retiring in 2010 and prior to that she worked for Parsons, Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, a multi-national engineering and design firm.
She was a life member and treasurer of the Blooming Grove Reformed Church in Defreestville and a Trustee of the Blooming Grove Rural Cemetery. She enjoyed crocheting and baking her specialty, brownies.
Survivors include her beloved sister, Beverly Ann Sliter, North Greenbush; her Goddaughter, Melissa Sansone, West Sand Lake and several cousins, She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth J. Sliter and her brother, Clarence Charles Sliter Jr.
