Lorraine E. Linzy, 82, of Elkhart, departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 21, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.

She was born March 3, 1932, in Cincinnati to Anthony F. and Elsie M. (Schudel) Goldsmith. On May 19, 1950, she married the late Eugene C. Linzy in Cincinnati. He preceded her in death Dec. 16, 2008.

Survivors include three sons, Eugene (Kathy) Linzy of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Michael (Pat) Linzy of Vandalia, Mich., and Keith (Robin) Linzy of Union, Mich.; two sisters, Eve (Randy) Durbin of Cincinnati and Joan (Bill Cottrill) West of Nile, Ohio; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Alfartusi; one brother, Tony Goldsmith; one sister, Virginia Szeles; and one niece, Kimberly Kuehnl.

Lorraine was a loving homemaker for most of her married life and worked briefly outside of the home. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Elkhart.

She was a wonderful cook and often enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and old movies. Lorraine was always interested in world news and was an avid newspaper reader. Voting was extremely important to Lorraine and she never failed to do so.
