Loretta Worlene Morris (Jones) Glauner, was born November 2, 1934 in Denver, CO to Achilles LeRoy Morris & Frances Margaret Harrison. She was the 7th of 9 children. She spent her early years following the harvest with her family in a motor home built by her Daddy. They finally settled in Richland, WA. She grew up with modest means, learned early the meaning of hard work, and that just because you didn’t have money you could still be clean. She talked about playing basketball and baseball when she was growing up, something that wasn’t common for girls in that day.
Loretta moved to Idaho when she married Nyle Jones in 1954. Loretta, Nyle and daughter, Connie, lived in Idaho Falls for many years. They moved to Gooding when Connie was a Freshman in high school. Loretta and Nyle later divorced. In 1980, she married Rod Glauner and in 2016 they were sealed in the Twin Falls Temple.
Loretta was a character! Whether it was stories of beating the rooster off the hens or trying to stop the “out of control car” with her foot, she always had everyone in stitches. She was a kid at heart and loved her grandkids. She would run through the sprinklers, roll around on the floor with them, stand on her head, do cartwheels (into her 60’s), and always had treats ready in the 3rd drawer in the kitchen (you just had to eat them outside!
Loretta loved going to see the kids’ events with Rod. They attended all the ball games, track meets, music concerts, plays, etc that she was able to for all of her grand- and great-grandchildren. They were lovingly referred to as the “Greats,” and they were pretty great.
She’s always been pretty feisty. In the months since Rod past, Loretta struggled with “being left behind.” Dementia is a terrible disease! We are grateful she is free of her earthly bonds. We know that she is having a beautiful reunion with her family and her eternal companion, Rod. In fact, he probably asked “what the hell took you so long?”
She was preceded in death by her husband Rod Glauner, both of her parents, siblings Charles, Geraldine, Katherine, Betty, Eva, Danny, Rhoda, Frances, and great grandson Garrett. She is survived by her daughter Connie (Reese) Dixon, bonus kids Linda (Tim) Berlin, Bruce (Richelle) Glauner, Connie (Paul) Brown, grandkids Stephanie (John) Wright, Jeannette (Len) Whiting, Emily (Shadd) Bollar, Ryan (Tasha) Dixon, bonus grandkids Cory (Tara), Brooke (Greg), Elisabeth, Chris (Heidi), Becky (James), Eric (Lori) and great-grandkids Jessica (Briten), Bridger, Elliott, BreeAnna, Klynt, Porter, Carter, Ava, Henry, Rodney, Jayce and Addiley and bonus great grandkids Webb, Cree, Braiden, London, and Kailin.
We want to extend a heart felt thank you to those that helped care for Gram (and Grandpa) in the last few years including neighbors Grace & Martha, Heritage Home Health & Hospice, Rosetta Assisted Living and Dr. Lisa Burgett. Your dedication and care won’t be forgotten.
