Loretta M. Stanish, 91, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away, Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Millers Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Indiana. Loretta was born on August 2, 1915, in LaPorte County to Joseph and Jennie (Turczynski) Layman. She retired from LeMans Academy, Rolling Prairie, after 17 years of service.
On June 27, 1935, Loretta married Leo Stanish who preceded her in death in 1953. Surviving are her daughters, Joan (James) Cooreman of New Carlisle, Indiana, Jeanette (Leon) Kosakowski of Michigan City, Indiana; her son, Robert (Patricia) Stanish of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, Greg Kosakowski, Teresa Stoll, Leon J. (Lynette) Kosakowski, Christopher (Shelley) Kosakowski, Jeff Cooreman, John Cooreman, Leon (Amy) Stanish, Sharon (Joe) Eggleston, Robert Stanish; 12 great grandchildren, Erik, Matthew, Nathan, Seth, Sam, Amanda, Joseph, Jessica, Lauren, Barbara, Donald, and Brandon; and her sister-in-law, Violet Layman of Chicago, Illinois. Brothers, Edward, Matthew, Alfred, and Irvin Layman all preceded her in death.
