Loretta “Lettie” Agnes Cohoon, 78, of Lake City, passed away on Friday evening, April 29, 2022 after an extended illness. She was born in Highland Park, Michigan on October 4, 1943 to the late Delmar Chapman and Viola Grix Chapman, preceded in death by her siblings Jerry, Larry, and George Chapman. She was raised and went to school in Waterford, MI and graduated from Waterford High School in 1961. During her teen years, she was a speed skater with the Detroit Speed Skating Association. Her biggest accomplishment was winning the National Indoor Speed Skating Title in West Allis, Wisconsin in February 1961. Lettie married Albert “Al” Cohoon in 1966 and proceeded to have a family of three girls and two boys.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Albert “Al” Cohoon; sons, Erik Cohoon and Kirk Cohoon; daughters, Audrey (Cohoon) Harnen, Wendy (Cohoon) White and Susan (Cohoon) Kelly; brother, Richard Chapman and sister, Elaine Hall. Nine grandchildren also survive.
