Loretta Josephine Dent (nee Garcia)

Loretta passed peacefully on the afternoon of February 16, 2017 surrounded by love and family. Born in Denver, she was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs. Loretta was a member of the 1941 graduating class of The Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind where she later worked for many years and became proficient in ASL. Over the course of her long life she also worked as a hairdresser and as a welder for the Airplane Mechanics during WWII, among her many adventures.
Loretta, aka Aunt Lora, aka Grandma Retta, will be remembered for her razor sharp wit and fantastic sense of humor. She loved good food, dirty jokes and above all, her family and friends, especially singing to her mijitos and mijitas.
Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Garcia, daughter, Penny Hill and son-in-law, Jim Beckett. She is survived by her children, Toni Willis (Steve), Moana Selinger (Jim), Dennis Dent (Lorie), Debbie Rondy (James), Danny Dent (Arlene) and Donald Dent (Carrie). She is also survived by grandchildren Cristal McGill, Theresa McGill, Tommy Beckett, Steve Beckett, Lori Trujillo, Donny Dent, Jennifer Olson, Amanda Hart, Tiffany Missling, Josh Dent, Lucas Dent and Valerie Trujillo, as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
