He died at 1:50 am Tuesday March 27, 2012 at The Heritage in Findlay.
He was born on May 21, 1921 in Hardin County to James Monroe and Edith Christina (Kruse) Guckes. On January 3, 1940 he married Mildred Ida Spearman and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2000.
Surviving are four children Betty Lou (Dick) Fiser of Lima, William Noah (Mary Ann) Guckes of Findlay, Ronda Sue Lehart of Kettering and Lorena Ann Hastings of Miamisburg. 10 Grandchildren Angelia (John) Cira, Christina (Sam) Ream, Shellie (Jeremy) Albert, Eric (Andrea) Guckes, Chad (Jody) Guckes, Heather (Brian) Rayburn, Scott Lehart, Jon (Joely) Hastings, Laura Hastings, and Katie Hastings. and 14 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane (Jim) Rush and one great grand child Bradley William Albert.
He retired from Ford Engine Plant as well as farming.
Lorenzo was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau, Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, Hardin Co Shrine Club, Dunkirk 549 Masonic Lodge, The Valley of Toledo, Scottish Rite 32 degree, Zenobia Shrine Temple in Toledo, American Legion in Kenton, AARP, the N.S.C.S, and AAA since 1964. He was a Army Air Corps Veteran serving during World War II.
