Nettie “Lorene” Langenfeld, 97 of Central City, entered Heaven at 3:47 P.M. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Lorene was born June 3, 1917 in Kell, daughter of Luther Cherry and Lucy (Wildrey) Cherry. She married Robert “Bob” Langenfeld on May 22, 1936 and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1995.
Lorene is adored and is survived by nine children: a daughter, Pat Marcum and Husband Lyle “Fish” of Central City, a daughter, “Jinny” Boatwright of Central City, a daughter, Blanche Flanigan of Central City, a daughter, Cherry Neff and husband Richard of Central City, a daughter, Margie Brethorst and husband Gary of Hendersonville, TN, a son, Robert Langenfeld, Jr. and wife Margaret of Hoyleton, a son, Ronnie Langenfeld and wife Bonnie of Centralia, a daughter, Cathy Jones and husband Russ of Centralia, and a son, Ricky Langenfeld and wife Nancy of Centralia; twenty-nine grandchildren: Tony Marcum and Debbie, Perry Marcum and Cheryl, Scott Marcum and Lisa, Byron Marcum and Ashley, Joni Boatright and fiancé Gary Gaetti, Viki Ingram and Dave, Mandy Whittaker and John, Hopper Flanigan and Shelly, Eddie Flanigan and Karen, Richie Neff, Jr and Resa, Julie Martin and Troy, Michael Neff and Natasha, Megan Neff and Donnie Warren, Andy Brethorst and fiancé Valerie, Allison Simino and Jim, Aaron Brethorst and Christie, Sara Kiefner and Scott, Jason Langenfeld and Ashley, Johnny Langenfeld and Lenzi, Stevie Langenfeld, Lacey Gelsinger and Chris, Tyler Langenfeld, Andrea Kinder and Heath, Luke Jones and Mandy, Danny Jones and Bethany, Adam Langenfeld and Fiancé Melissa, Natalie Langenfeld, Nikki Langenfeld, and Cody Langenfeld; forty-five great-grandchildren and two great-granddaughters on the way; 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Billy Cherry, a granddaughter: Mary Flanigan, great-granddaughter: Lauren Little, great-grandson: Zachary Bo Henson.
Lorene worked at Hollywood Candy Factory. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, canning and baking. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Centralia, Mary Mary Quilts, St. Mary’s Funeral Dinner Committee, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Small Faith Group. She loved going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
