-Lorene L. Winebrenner, 95, of Freeport, died Wednesday June 9, 2004, at Parkview Home in Freeport.
Born April 9, 1909 in Freeport she was the daughter of Charles and Elsie (Martin) Schramm. She married F. Philbert Winebrenner on June 26, 1935 in Freeport and he died March 26, 1958.A Freeport High School graduate she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She taught at Lincoln School from 1928-1935, rural Forreston School from 1943 to 1946, Elementary School in Sycamore from 1946-1960, and Harlem School in Freeport from 1960 until her retirement in 1974.Her memberships included Embury United Methodist Church, Simper fedalis class at church, United Methodist Women, Stephenson County Retired Teacher’s Association, Illinois Retired Teacher’s Association, Business & Professional Women’s League, Culture Club, and the YWCA.
Surviving is her son, Ronald E. (Janice) Winebrenner of Freeport; one brother, Karl M. (Jean L) Schramm of Freeport; numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister, Leola M. Schramm, preceded her in death.
