Lorena Charlotte Battefeld, 90, of Meredosia, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in rural Meredosia, the daughter of Clarence and Greta Schlieker Ruh. She married Charles Russell Battefeld on Jan. 29, 1942, in Hannibal, MO, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (husband, Glen) Bowman of Meredosia; and two grandchildren, Chardy (husband, Justin) Bangert and Corey Bowman, both of Meredosia.
After her marriage, Mrs. Battefeld was a homemaker. She was also a proud farm wife and worked alongside her husband in the fields. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Meredosia. Lorena was very proud to have three music teachers in her family, and never missed a performance. She loved her family very much.
