Loren was born on November 8, 1917 to Edward and Ella (Schroeder) Niemann at home in rural Staplehurst. Loren was baptized on December 2, 1917 at Zion Lutheran Church in Marysville, NE. Loren attended Marysville parochial school through the eighth grade when he left to help with the farm. He was confirmed on May 1, 1932 at Zion Lutheran Church, Marysville, NE. Loren served in the 134th Infantry from March 1941 until October 1945. On December 14, 1947, Loren was united in marriage to Esther Eng in Staplehurst, NE. Loren farmed for his entire life except for the time he was in the service. He also sold seed corn and was County Manager for Archer Oil for several years. Loren was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was also a life member of American Legion Post #49 in Utica, Seward V.F.W. Post #4755, Nebraska Farmers Union, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Purple Heart Recipient, Bronze Star Recipient, received the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal from France. Loren passed away on February 26, 2013 in Seward, NE at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 18 days. Loren is survived by his wife, Esther Niemann, Staplehurst, NE; children, Keith (Helen) Niemann, Lincoln, NE, Linda (Randy) Rink, Waverly, NE, Dale (Beth) Niemann, Staplehurst, NE, Tim (Nancy) Niemann, Norcross, GA, Paul Niemann, Staplehurst, NE, June Niemann, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Stacie (Bruce) Moore, Joshua Niemann, Lauren (Dan) Madsen, Zac Niemann, Kristi (Marc) Larson, Kimberly (Markus) Hoesly, Eric (Kate) Niemann, Michael (Jennifer) Niemann, Kelly Rink, Brian (Becky) Rink; great-grandchildren, Trey Moore, Samantha Moore, Addison Moore, Cecilia Niemann, Lucille Niemann, Loren Niemann, Easton Madsen, Keeley Madsen, Benjamin Snyder, Dylan Snyder, Jordan Snyder, Mason Larson, Maddelyn Larson, Cade Hoesly, Kyler Hoesly, Caleb Niemann, Parker Niemann; sister-in-law, Viola Niemann.
