Loren G “Bud” Pike, 88, Anderson, died September 27, 2008 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.

He was born September 26, 1920 in Connersville, and resided in Anderson. He has lived in this area for most of his life. He was 1938 graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He retired from Delco Remy in 1982 and after retirement he worked for Anderson Banking Company for thirteen years. He was a member of The Church of God at West Anderson where he was very involved in many aspects of the church. He was a past member of the Lions Club. He was a certified clown and was known as “Hic-Cup”. He was also a fan of baseball and loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma “Jeanne” Townsend Pike. Three children; David Joyce Pike of Anderson, Rick Dianne Pike of Westfield, and Dawn Toby Truex of North Carolina. Grandchildren; Derek Kendra Pike, Kortney Jason Zagorski, Ryan Mary Pike, Chad fiance Kim Thomason Pike, Kylie Truex, and Kristen Truex. Great grandchildren; Hayden and Adrianna Pike, Eli Zagorski, and Cameron & Lauren Pike. Also surviving is a very special friend Bill Soetenga. The family wishes to extend a extra special thanks to the nursing staff of Community Hospital 3 east and Dr.’s Lee and Chambers for all of their care and support.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Maurice and Mildred Bever Townsend. A sister; Thelma Sells and a brother Lawrence Eugene Pike.
