Our most dear, sweet, and devoted mother, Lorelei Fairleigh, fell asleep peacefully in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on February 14, 2014. Born on September 9, 1928 in Olpe, Kansas, she married Carl Fairleigh on September 14, 1946.
Lorelei was a truly dedicated wife, mother, nurse, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She spent many years caring for others and touching the lives of so many people, especially her family. She worked tirelessly in many Church callings through the decades and was a faithful daughter of her Father in Heaven. After raising 7 children, she realized her next calling was that of a nurse, and at age 49, became a nurse and has inspired many to follow that path. She worked in long term care until age 73. In her later years she became an avid sports fan, especially loving the Texas Rangers. Most of all, she loved her job as mother and has enjoyed her family beyond measure. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and we have been able to thrive in her unconditional love our entire lives. We will miss our mother tremendously.
Lorelei is predeceased by her husband Carl, son Jeff, and grandsons Shannon and Jefferson Batchelor. She is survived by her children Chris (Doris), Gail (Burke), Mary Jane, Robyn (Mark), Thom (Michelle), and Richard, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
