Tommy Luis Lopez, 8l, died Thursday evening peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mercedes, “Mozelle” six children, Martha Cook of Phoenix AZ., Anna Chambers of Arizona City, Dolores Trevino of Grand Junction CO., Eddie Lopez of Bryce Canyon UT., Fred Lopez of Seligman AZ., and Veronica Hecker of Seligman AZ. He is also survived by 3 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Tommy was born and raised in Seligman AZ and at the age of 18, joined the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon his return from active duty, he married Mercedes Rincon of Seligman AZ and moved to Barstow CA. for eight years. In 1954 they moved to Grand Canyon AZ, where he retired from the Fred Harvey Co. in 1989.
Tommy loved the out doors and enjoyed sharing these experiences with all of his children. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, willingness to help anyone in need and his love and devotion to his family.
