He was born on July 8, 1950 in Washington, Indiana to Ira Dale and Eva (Martindale) Green. Lonnie married his loving wife, Mary Ann (Strange) Green on July 11, 1998.
Lonnie was a farmer, working for the county and at Hoeffling International, before retiring from North Daviess Schools.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents.
