Lonnie Conrad Letourneau, 77, left this life peacefully, June 28, 2016, at home. He was born May 12, 1939, in Epping, NH, to parents Francois Xavier and Rosanna (Allard) Letourneau. Born and raised in Epping, some of his earliest memories were going to the well to get a fresh bucket of water each morning, before walking the two miles to school. Homework was done under a kerosene lamp. Lonnie’s father was a WWI veteran, and received care from the White River Junction VA Hospital. Lonnie’s mother worked two jobs, and he left school to work for the W.S. Goodrich Brick Yard in Epping. He always looked forward to his class luncheon get together each month at a different restaurant around the Epping, NH, area. At the age of 19 Lonnie joined the US Army, receiving his Basic Training in Fort Dix, NJ. From there, he was assigned to Fort Sill, OK, with the Heavy 155mm Artillery. He stayed at Fort Sill for one year as an instructor for new recruits. Getting orders for South Korea, he spent 13 months on the DMZ at Camp Hovey. The last 15 months of his tour were spent at Fort Bragg, NC. Leaving the Army, he began his lifelong trade of Glazing with a membership in the ALF-CIO Glazier’s Union, working high rise buildings in Boston. Lonnie was blessed with 48 beautiful years of marriage to Ann (Carey) Letourneau.
