Lola Elmer (Blackwelder) Simpson, age 98, of Locust, N.C., died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. Born in Cabarrus County, NC she was the daughter of the late Milas Avery Blackwelder and the late Mary Brack (Lomax) Blackwelder. She was also preceded in death by sons Robert Daniel Simpson and George Orville Simpson.
