Lola Rogerson

LAYTON – Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lola Rogerson, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at age 89 during a brief stay at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She was born November 24, 1926 to Vandell James and Edna Hall Lofthouse in Paradise, Utah where she was raised during the Great Depression. She had three sons and raised her family in Roy, Utah, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the U.P. Junior Old Timers Club No. 9 and the Roy Lady Elks Club. Lola worked at Hill Air Force Base for many years and moved to Layton before retiring.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, traveling, crossword puzzles, spending time with family, reading, spoiling her grandchildren, Sunday games of pinochle and laughing until she cried. Lola was an example of preparedness, hard work, and positive attitude, with an infectious sense of humor. She was a witty intellect who never complained and always avoided self-pity.

Preceded in death by her son Wayndell Rogerson, her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Survived by her sons Kent A. Rogerson of Layton, Utah and David L. (Cyndy) Rogerson of Riverton, Utah; two grandchildren, Jared D. (Jennifer) Rogerson of Pinedale, Wyoming and Alicia A. (Travis) Harvey of Herriman, Utah; and three great grandchildren, Caliann, Jada and Oakley.
