NEW HARTFORD LEFEBER – Lois Meyer Lefeber, 74, of 563 Main Street, entered into rest on Monday, October 23, 2006. She was the loving wife of the late Peter E. Lefeber, who passed away in 2002. Born January 9, 1932 in Torrington, the daughter of the late Nicholas Emil Meyer and Lillian (Millot) Meyer, Lois was a resident of New Hartford since 1957. She graduated from The Gilbert School in Winsted in 1950, and subsequently studied dance at the Carnegie Hall School of Ballet Arts in New York City. From 1951 until 1969, she owned and operated a highly successful, and locally acclaimed, dance studio in Winsted, known as the Lois Meyer Lefeber School of Dance, which she closed after her last dance recital in 1969. Thereafter, from 1969 until her retirement in 1995, she served as the Assistant to the Principal of the New Hartford Elementary School.
