Lois was born on July 22, 1938 in Farmington, Michigan. After she graduated from Western Michigan University, she had a fulfilling career as an elementary teacher in both Arizona and Colorado schools for more than 30 years.  “Mrs. Ruffin” touched countless children’s lives that were fortunate enough to have her as one of their teachers.

After retiring from Leawood Elementary School, Lois spent her time gardening, quilting, traveling the world, and enjoying family, friends and her dogs.  She was an avid reader and accomplished pianist.  Lois loved to laugh and have fun!  She will be remembered by all as a free spirited, one-of-a-kind woman who cared deeply for her family and friends.
