Lois Marie Wise, 85, of Alpena, passed from this life into an eternity with her Lord on February 8, 2011. She was born June 30, 1925 in Alpena, AR, the daughter of Robert and Mattie Hopper Sparks. She was a graduate of Alpena High School and on July 21, 1946 she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Ellis Wise, who preceded her in death. She had been employed at Levi garment factory in Harrison and later as a cook at the Alpena Schools, where she retired only a few years ago. Lois was a life-time member of Alpena United Methodist Church where she spent many hours volunteering her skills in various areas of church service . She also served her local community at the Alpena voting poll for a number of years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, canning, and helping others. Lois was a wonderful mother and mother-in”law, and a devoted, loving grandmother. Her gentle spirit was generously shared with all around her. Her sweet smile will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Lois is survived by her daughter, Shirley Wise of Alpena, one son, Charles Wise and wife Patricia of Alpena, nephew (who she helped raise) Kenneth Booth and wife Judy of Alpena, 8 grandchildren: Dave Parker, of Chicago, Shawn Parker, Mistie Jester, Richard Wise, Crystal Gray, Toni Dotson, Matt Sharpe and Shawnda Bixler, all of Alpena, 21 great-grandchildren; K C and Damien Parker, Kaylee and Sierra Parker, Orion and Autumn Dopp, Brianna Moore, Cade Jester, Peyton and Olivia Wise, Sidney, Whitney, Jacinda and Ethan Gray, Haylee Sharpe, Johnny Dotson, Purity and Clarity Sharpe, Steven and Stacy Taylor,and Austin Breedlove, 3 nieces and 6 nephews, and a host of family and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Everett Eugene and Jerald Dean Sparks, and 2 sisters, Freda Mae Booth and Roberta Sims.
