Lois M. Savage, the daughter on John E. and Bertha L. (Holmes) Savage, was born on April 20, 1934 in Greenfield, Iowa. She married Glenn J. Woody on November 6, 1953 at Newton, Iowa.
She was a 1952 graduate of Newton High School. She received her LPN at Broadlawns School of Nursing and her RN at Marshalltown Community College. As an RN, she did private home health care. Lois had also worked at Newton Manufacturing and Winpower Corporation.
Lois is survived by her husband, Glenn J. Woody of Newton; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Steve Zahniser of Lawrence, Kansas; a son and his wife, Dennis R. and LuAnn Woody of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Luke, Seth, and Anna Zahniser and Christopher and Joshua Woody’ her mother, Bertha Savage of Newton; three brothers: Leonard Savage and his wife, Ella, of Newton, Donald Savage of Des Moines, Iowa, and Robert Savage of Austin, Texas; and two sisters and their husbands: Evelyn and Norman Kennedy of Newton and Jeanie and Jim Ackerman of Olivet, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Savage.
