Lois Marie Gregg Chivers, 96, passed away March 15th, 2018. She was born May 27, 1921 to Henry Claud Gregg and Anna Marie Kendrick Gregg. She was born in Pocatello and lived here all her life. She was the fifth of seven children; Bernice, Bill, LaVern, Cecil, Lois, Carolyn and Donna.
She met Evan Chivers while they were both working at Kraft Foods. After a fun courtship they married September 10, 1940. They never had much money so their entertainment was going to dances at the “Garden” or the “Deleta” or playing cards with their family and friends.
To their marriage came three children, Jerry, Kent and Diana. Lois loved to play Pinochle and played with a group for about 70 years. Her sisters Berniece, Carolyn, the Seelos triplets, Nina Bitton and Nadine Hough were the first group to play. Many other ladies played as time went on. Her passion was music.
