Winsted: Lois Moran Jamieson 88, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She was born in Winsted, March 9, 1920, to T. Joseph and Jennie (Havens) Moran and had lived in this area all of her life. Lois was everything anyone could want in a mother, grandmother, co-worker or friend. She was the proprietor of a beauty salon in her early career and later trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for many years at the Winsted Hospital. She resided at Chestnut Grove for many years in her retirement until failing health brought her back to her old home. The last two years were an incredibly orchestrated effort provided by a loving family determined to help Lois live out her life at home. Her survivors include her six children, Dr. N. Gary (Joan) Jamieson, Jane Demers, Clare (Michael) Workman, Pat Jamieson, Kristin (Jim) Macdonald and Beth (Major) Dunn; 16 grandchildren, Terri, Cheryl, Gary J., Patty, Sean, Michelle, Kevin, Alison, John, Brigid, Tim, Danielle, Scott, David, T. Joseph, Kurt, Melissa, Lisa, James, Katy and Ross; 18 great grandchildren and one beloved nephew, Tom (Sherri) Hayes. She was predeceased by her older sister, Clare Hayes. The family would like to thank her caregivers: Caitlin Jamieson (her first great granddaughter), Sheila Decker, Aida Nichols, Denise Gainey, Kathy Lakeland and the Winsted VNA Hospice team for all their kind support.
