Lois “Jean” (Royalty) Roberts, 91, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed peacefully with a smile into the Garden of Heaven on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 12:25 am in Pittsboro, Indiana.

Jean was born on March 14, 1930 in Battle, Kentucky to the late Bailey and Stella (Riley) Royalty. Her family included Edward Royalty (deceased) and Forrest Royalty, her brothers.

The family later moved to Scott County Indiana and settled in Austin to begin farming.

Jean graduated from Austin High School on May 30, 1948, and with her daddy’s blessing, moved to Indianapolis to begin her career in beauty school. It was here Jean was introduced to the love of her life, a G.I. Vernon Lee Roberts (deceased).

They married, moved to Greenwood, Indiana in 1954, and began their long life together, married almost 65 years. They loved their community of Greenwood and spent their lives together in the 1954 home.

Since Jean’s husband’s passing approximately 6 years ago, she began her New Life in Hendricks County Indiana, Pittsboro, Brownsburg where she met many new friends, and deepened her love with her children, Dennis, Beth, and Greg, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling, camping, yard gardening, and visiting friends and family.

Jean brought special Love and Joy to so many throughout her life.

Her amazing love to her family was witnessed by so many.

Jean is survived by her three children, Dennis W. (Diana) Roberts of Whitestown, IN, Beth A. (Michael) Steele of Pittsboro, IN, and Gregory L. Roberts of Monrovia, IN; her seven grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen) Roberts, Wesley (Katie) Steele, Katy (Renny) Esser, Brett Steele, Dean (Kara) Roberts, Jadon Roberts, and Leah Ringo; her eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie (Logan) Steele, Nora (Pierce) Esser, Colt Steele, Myra Ringo, Lydia Ringo, Graham Roberts, Sawyer Roberts, and Lucas Esser, who is on the way; her three step-grandchildren, Butch Osborne, Troy Osborne, and Michelle (Luke) McQueen; her seven step-great-grandchildren, Drew, Abby, Emma, and Major Osborne, Kyra Clayton, and Ava and Ian McQueen; her brother, Forrest Royalty, and her niece, Judy Royalty Pendarvis, whom she loved.
