GETTYS, Lois J. passed away on December 6, 2011, at her home. She was born September 19, 1948, in Kalamazoo to the late Clarence and Jennie Drenth DeVries. Lois was employed with Butternut Bakery for over 30 years and as a manager in the past few years.
Lois was very fond of butterflies, hummingbirds, and cats and was an avid reader. Among her music interests were the Beatles, the Moody Blues, and James Dean. She also enjoyed ceramics during the past 6 years.
Surviving Lois are her children, Anthony Tracy Montgomery Gettys, Laurie Jamie McConnell, and Lorrie Bill Kelly; daughter-in-law, Lorie Gettys Osborne; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her significant other, Don Gard; sisters, Dorothy Jack Gettys and Betty Jo Park; lifelong friend, Hulda Gruenewald; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding Lois in death was a son, Jon Gettys; and sister, Joyce Durian.
