Logan Francis Hynes, 18, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his residence. He was born January 23, 1998, in Pittsfield, the son of Paul “Henry” and Shelley Middendorf Hynes.
He is survived by his mother, Shelley Hynes and Mike Magner of Jacksonville; two sisters and one brother, Kelsey Watkins of Bloomington, Jordan Watkins of Jacksonville, and Macey Hynes of Jacksonville; maternal grandparents, Richard Middendorf and Sharon Middendorf, both of Jacksonville; and paternal grandmother, Elaine Hynes of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Shelley Jo Hynes in infancy; and his paternal grandfather, Frank P. Hynes.
Logan attended Jacksonville High School and was a 2015 graduate of Lincoln’s Challenge Academy in Rantoul. He had been employed in construction.
Logan was an avid fan of NASCAR and Sprint Car Racing and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and outdoor activities. He played football and baseball and enjoyed sports in general. He also enjoyed doing yard work.
