Lodema Jane Curtis, age 87, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

 

Born November 1, 1933, in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Only Harvey Crawford and Martha Alta Spurlock Crawford.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Crawford; infant sister, Elizabeth Crawford; son, Jackie Burke; daughter, Trish Burke; infant grandson, Adam Hawkins; granddaughter, Wendy Dunaway; great grandson, Donavin Kelly; and infant great granddaughter, Arrow Stewart. 

 

 

Her grandchildren:  April and Molly Hord; Travis (Julie) Fawns; Dusty (Stacey) Humphries; Taylor (Bradley) Gooding; Julie Hawkins (Ryan Fields); Jayla (Nicholas) Shelley; Jenna Wagoner; Jared (Ashton) Stewart; Derrick, Johnathon and Dalton Burton; Clyde Raylan Zornes; Heather Plummer; and Isaac Sapp.

 

Her great grandchildren:  Carley Dunaway; Randall, Emily and Ryan Humphries; Kendall Hawkins; Aspyn, Hudson and Brixton Gooding; Harper, Connor and Kaiser Shelley; Isaac Fawns; Wyatt Stewart; Caden and Colton Sebastion; Adley Sapp; and Henley Plummer. 

 

She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends. 

 

Lodema was a homemaker and for many years a babysitter.  She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, watching birds, being outside, and sitting on the porch.  Later in life, she also enjoyed working puzzles and playing Solitaire. She was of the Christian faith and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
