Lloyd R. Mudd, age 99 of Midland, died Friday evening November 28, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. Lloyd was the second son of the late Clarence and Verna (Sweebe) Mudd was born in Midland on August 11, 1915 where he was raised and educated. Lloyd served in the United States Army for 4 years during World War II. He was employed with the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1957 after 34 years of service. On August 9, 1946 in Midland Lloyd married the former Betty Marquiss. They made several trips to Branson and did a considerable amount of dancing in there earlier years. Lloyd also called square dances. In his earlier years Lloyd played considerable baseball including the High School Team and the City of Midland Team, later he played softball. He was born and raised on the family farm and continued working part time most of his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years Betty Mudd; sons, Jerry (Lola) Mudd, Gene Mudd, Ray (Judy) Mudd all of Midland, Dale (Patty) Mudd of Bay City; 5 grandchildren, Janene (Marvin) Tegen, Kristy Mudd, Sabrina (Nate) Tester, Ashley (Daniel) Mastrogiacomo, Tyler Mudd; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and nephews including special cousin Frances (Charles) Longsdorf who was raised from a child by his parents. In addition to his parents Lloyd was preceded in death by brothers and sisters law, Melvin (Ann) Mudd, Herman (Helen) Mudd; sister, Gertrude (George) Green.
