Lloyd O. Gearhart, 86, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Wednesday afternoon, October 3, 2012 at his home.Lloyd was born December 11, 1925 to John and Elizabeth (Duddelson) Gearhart in Three Oaks. He graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1944 and served his country in the US Army during WWII. Lloyd was awarded a Purple Heart for his service. On November 27, 1947 he married Clora “Laura” Jackson in Three Oaks. Lloyd was employed as a carpenter for Big C Lumber in Three Oaks for 35 years.

He was a member of the Three Oaks United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Three Oaks Randall Couchman American Legion Post #204. In retirement he continued to enjoy building things, gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Harold (Betty) Gearhart and Jim Gearhart, all of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Dean, John, Jeff, Rachel, Christopher, Jessie and Katherine; great grandchildren, Timothy, Dillion, Gideon, Jacki, Caleb, Jackson, Bella, Tysen, Paxton, Harley, Jake, Alissa, Noah, Jonathan, Caitlin, Haley and David, and sisters, Louise Ahnstedt, of Colorado, Mary Lou Bladecki of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and Sharon Feirick of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, one brother, and his loving wife, Laura, who died on December 27, 2008, just one month after celebrating their 61 years of marriage.
