Lloyd M. McIntire, Sr., the son of Roy E. and Eathyl V. (Duey) McIntire, was born May 19, 1929 in Clearfield, Iowa.
From 1946 to 1948, Lloyd was in the U.S. Marines. He moved to Newton, Iowa in the mid 1950s and went to work for the Maytag Company. Lloyd retired from the Maytag Company Paint Department on June 30, 1991 after more than 40 years. On July 7, 1969, Lloyd was united in marriage to Vivian McConkey in Milan, Missouri. He was a member of Moose Lodge #923 and SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Club. Lloyd enjoyed woodworking.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Connie Pickett in 1998; two grandsons and a brother in infancy. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Vivian; his son, Lloyd McIntire, Jr. of Rialto, California; his six daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Wayne Northcutt of Newton; Katherine Lambert of Newton; Linda and Dennis Broughton of Minneota, Minnesota; Lucia and Scott Ripley of Ruthton, Minnesota; Pat Brewers and her fiancee, Ed Werkheiser of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Evie and Larry Beilicke of Iowa City, Iowa, his son-in-law, Don Pickett; his 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; his three brothers, Stephen E. McIntire of Shenandoah, Iowa; John McIntire of Afton, Iowa and Raymond McIntire of Edgerton, Kansas.
