Lloyd Edward Sosa, 54, passed away April 19, 2016 at his home in Boerne.Lloyd was born in San Antonio, TX, February 12, 1962; grew up attending St Paul’s Catholic Church; was an altar boy there; and developed lifelong friendships while attending parochial school there.After graduating from Jefferson High School, Lloyd served a two year mission for the LDS church in Cali, Colombia, improving and touching many people’s lives there. Upon returning, he pursued post-secondary education with emphasis in real estate at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Shortly after coming back to San Antonio he met the love of his life, Barbara, and they were married on June 5, 1984. Together they raised four sons in Boerne, TX.In his early career, Lloyd fine-tuned his salesman skills working for a local home builder in San Antonio. He then enjoyed getting to know the market as a loan officer. At heart though, Lloyd was a true entrepreneur. He loved the challenge of building a thriving business from scratch. He owned and co-owned multiple businesses over the course of his life—everything from appealing property taxes to having cell phone accessory stores to coming to know the intricacies of water filtration.Lloyd held multiple leadership positions in the LDS church, ranging from Ward Mission Leader, to Counselor in the Bishopric, to Young Men’s President, and working in the LDS Temple in San Antonio. He loved to cook, was a wonderful storyteller, fishing enthusiast and lifelong Republican. Lloyd committed himself to both inspiring and empowering those around him to be their best selves. He lived a full life and had a positive impact on innumerable people. As loving and committed of a husband and father as could be asked for, he will be missed.Lloyd Sosa was preceded in death by his parents David and Griselda Sosa, as well as his son Zachary Sosa. He is survived by his wife Barbara Sosa and their sons Trent, Sean and Michael Sosa, as well as siblings Margie Schiess and husband Wynn, David Sosa and wife Sharon, and Cris Hanssen and husband Walter; and innumerable aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.The love, service, and help from the Boerne community, church, family and friends has been immeasurable. The Sosa family would like to thank all of you for supporting them through this difficult time.
