Lizzie E. Williams, of Durham, died Friday, July 30, 2010. Mrs. Williams was born in Granville County to the late James Ira and Annie Lee Currin Evans. She had been a member of Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church since 1950, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a past member of The Ruth Circle. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha H. Williams; a brother, James Samuel Evans; and a sister, Daisy Evans White. Surviving are a son, James Williams and wife, Alice, of Durham; a daughter, Annie Mae Fox and husband, Anderson, of Durham; a sister, Lillie Evans Walthall of Durham; five grandchildren, Janet Harris, Vickie Goff, Brenda Lugar, Rhonda Hagan and Tina Bryant; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
