Linwood “Linney” Leevern Wiggins, 50, of Meriden, beloved husband of Lorrie (Pope) Wiggins, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18th at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. Born in Bertie County, NC, he was the son of the late Lillie Mae Wiggins and Linwood B. Holley, Sr. Linwood attended elementary school in Powellsville, NC and graduated in 1978 from Middletown High School in Middletown. A native of Middletown and Meriden, he was a dedicated employee of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for seventeen years as a machinist operator. After an early retirement, he spent his spare time enjoying his boat out on the ocean fishing with friends and on the days he had dialysis, he was a huge inspiration to the unit inspiring other patients and interns regarding kidney disease. Besides his wife, Lorrie, he is survived by his children, Jodi E. Harris of Windsor, Latarsha Wiggins of Meriden, Courtney L. Marshall of Middletown, and Devon C. Wiggins of New Britain; two grandsons, Jelani and Akiel Lomotey of Windsor; two granddaughters, Cheyan and Myesha Wiggins of Meriden; three brothers, Russell Perry and George Holley, both of Newport News, VA., and Keith Dempsey of Murfreesboro, NC; and two sisters, Shirley Holley of Newport News, VA and Evangeline Outlaw of Murfreesboro, NC. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Helen Wiggins of Middletown; two brothers-in-law, Paul Smith of Brooksville, FL, and William Smith of Meriden; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and two dear friends, Gregory White and Tony Perry, both of Middletown. Besides his parents, Linwood is predeceased by his siblings, Donald Wiggins, Rev. Frederick Wiggins, Irvin Wiggins, Hilda Wiggins and his niece, Shanika Wiggins.
