Linda Thornley Ator, 75, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Cort and Agnes Smithson McLaughlin. She married Arnold Thornley in 1957.
She is survived by her son, Emmerson (Nancy) Thornley of Jacksonville; three daughters, Ann (Dr. Randy) Rogers of Houston, TX, Kay (David) Sparks of Prescott, AZ and Karla Thornley of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Ethan and Sarah Thornley of Jacksonville and Michael Cole Round of Houston, TX; two brothers and two sisters, Dr. Henry McLaughlin of Fallbrook, CA, Susie (Bill) Lashmett of Babbitt, MN, Dan McLaughlin of Peoria and Janice Rueter of San Jose, CA; and her caregivers, Tina, Nicki and Randa.
She married Gene Ator on Jan. 29, 2000, in New Orleans, LA and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2003.
Linda was a special lady, had been very active in the community, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling.
