Linda S. Phillips, born July 1, 1950, went to be with our Lord on November 15, 2015, in her hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is the eldest child of the late Vern E. Carpenter and Charlene R. Carpenter. She is survived by her children Patrica A. Laverty of Winchester, KY., Christine (Michael) Gangi of Omaha, NE., Rebecca (Scott) Kenyon of Kalamazoo, MI., Sherry (Jim) Diggs of Texas, and William A. Phillips of Kalamazoo, MI., Donald (Debra) Phillips of Kalamazoo, MI., and Rose Ballard of Niles, MI. She is survived by her husband William R. Phillips Jr. of over 40 years and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings Charles E. Carpenter of Highland, MI., Deborah K. Phillips of Oshtemo, MI., Joseph A. Carpenter of Portage, MI., Chuck (Kristy) Finney of Portage, MI., Pam (Russ ) Reist of Portage, MI., and Steve (Beth) Finney of Portage, MI. She was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents; a grandson Brandin S. Phillips; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a mom to many that knew her and a nana to many also. She will be missed by many.
