     Linda Pauline Hammond, 74, of Williamsport went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at UPMC Williamsport. Surviving is her loving husband of 54 years, Donald E. Hammond whom she married February 4, 1967.

     Born January 5, 1947 in Williamsport she was a daughter of the late Leonard G. and Mary E. (Pysher) Bensinger.

     Linda was a 1964 graduate of South Williamsport High School. For over 30 years, Linda shared her compassion for others as a Nurse Aide at various locations in Williamsport. Besides work, she dedicated her life to her family and her church. She was an active life member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and helped with Bible school.

     Linda would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, always putting others before herself and showing tremendous love and support to her family. She was known for sharing yearly birthday cards with every family member or friend and was present for every family event and anything her children or grandchildren were involved in.

     Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Margariet “Margo” A. Emmil (George) and Mary P. Stewart (Bradley) all of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren, Steven F. Brown, Jr., Donald G. Brown (Elaine), Lacey Martin (Christopher), Faydra Emmil, George M. Emmil, Jr. (Erin), Eric G. Brown, Tod A. Brown, Hailey M. Stewart, Alexis C. Stewart, and Tyla R. Beaghley; 19 great-grandchildren, Cali Elshoff, Jordan Helm, Kira Emmil, Christopher Martin, III, Aliyah Martin, Elijah Martin, Steven Brown, III, Shaelynn Brown, Sidney Brown, Hailey Fravel, Josh Fravel, Jr., Donald Brown, Jr., Kacelynn Powers, Maliki Emmil, Marques Williams, Cambria Emmil, George Emmil, III, Brayden Emmil, and Breonna Emmil; a great-great granddaughter, Quishae Johnson; several loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Duke.
