Linda L. Speaks, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI in Providence, RI. She was born in Boston, MA on May 7, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Loretta Victoria Saunders.
Linda is survived by her 3 children, Tiki L. Speaks, Frederick R. Ruffin III and Verlin R. Perry, her companion/common law husband for 21 years, Donald R. Hicks, 5 grandchildren, Darelle NS Speaks, Frederick Ruffin IV, Anyia Ruffin, Amani Ruffin and Verlin R. Perry Jr.
After retirement, Linda also worked for the Providence School Department as a substitute secretary from 1998 to 2000/01. From there she enjoyed her life. Linda was able to enjoy the births of her grandchildren, her children graduating from High School, her eldest child from URI and her eldest grandchild from High School. She lived life to the fullest and was always on the go and did everything she set out to do.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
When Linda spoke she made sure everyone listened.
