DURHAM- Mrs. Linda Kay Dickerson Smith, 70, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019.
Mrs. Smith was born on November 17, 1948 to David and Dulcie Dickerson in Oxford, NC. Linda was a member of New Grace Baptist church and was a woman of great faith. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and watching soap operas. Linda enjoyed her garden and watching the hummingbirds. She deeply loved her family, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, “granny”, and friend.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, J.T. Woods; brothers, David, Russell, Charlie, and Archie Dickerson; and her sister, Marguerite Proctor. She is survived by her husband, Tony Smith, Jr.; sons, Brent Woods (April) of Durham, NC, and Ashley Gill Woods (Hazel) of Durham, NC; step-daughter, Kourtney King (Eli) of Oxford, NC; brother, James Henry Dickerson (Diane) of Oxford, NC; and her grandchildren, Logan Woods, Elisha McGarr, Avery McGarr, Julian “Peanut” King, Abbe Banker, Bubba Banker, and one due in April 2020.
