Linda Irene Hymes, 62, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 13, 1947, in White Hall, IL; the daughter of Otha Leon and Margaret Louise Hawkins Jeffers.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Alred of Jacksonville; a daughter, Angela Busch (husband, Ray) of Jacksonville; a son, Rich Hymes (wife, Kristen) of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Jacob Paul, Joshua Jordan, Kennedy Irene, Logan Wallace, Ephriam Ray, and Emma Margaret; her companion, Alden Stewart of Jacksonville; three sisters, Mary Edwards (husband, Tom), Carol Busen (husband, Ron), and Sarah Jeffers, all of Jacksonville; two brothers, James BenJeffers (wife, Della) of Roodhouse and John Jeffers of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Esther Myers (surviving husband, Don of Jerseyville), and two brothers, David Jeffers (surviving wife, Pat of Bowling Green, KY) and Robert Jeffers.
Mrs. Hymes was a 1966 graduate of North Greene High School and was employed for 33 years as a mental health technician for the State of Illinois. She enjoyed devoting her free time to caring for her children and grandchildren.
