Mr. May was born September 4, 1928 in Plainville, son of the late Clarence and Clara (Griswold) May. He attended local schools and was employed at Landers Frary and Clark in New Britain at the time of his enlistment in 1948. Prior to being sent to Korea , he served as a military policeman at Fort Dix in New Jersey and Fort Devens in Massachusetts. Mr. May had planned to marry his fiancée Elizabeth (Frugale) Moore in October of 1950. She is currently a resident of New Britain.
Mr. May is survived by three nephews, Glenn and Clifford Block, both of Bristol, and Terry LeBell of Oklahoma, and a niece Linda Robillard of New York. He was predeceased by his brother Robert May and two sisters Althea Block and Dorothy LeBell-Kleszcz.
