~An Earthly Sojourn~

Out Heavenly Father stretched out his gentle hand and beckoned Lillie Pearl Matthews to a better land.

~A Time To Be Born~

Lillie Pearl was born to the late Lonnie Glenn Autry and Maggie Carroll Autry in Cumberland County on February 6, 1948. She was married to the late James J. Rich who preceded her in death.

~A Time To Mourn~

Lillie was born in a Christian home. She attended The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and sang with the Gospel Choir for a number of years. She received her education in Cumberland County school system, but declining health kept Lillie’s body inactive. She was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

There is an open gate at the end of the road, through which each must go alone. There is a light, we can not see. Our Heavenly Father claims his own. On Thursday morning, April 10, 2008 the Lord called Lillie to eternal peace and rest in Southeastern Medical Center, Lumberton, NC. She leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memories two daughters, Varonna Jones (Sylvester) of St. Pauls and Vanessa Rich and friend Stephenie Howard of Fayetteville, NC; one son, Christopher Rich (Krystal) of the home; one sister, Bertha Mae Moore; two brothers, Arthur Autry (Dorothy) and William Autry of Wade, NC; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; two aunts, Lena Mae Autry and Annie Belle Wright of Wade, NC; and a host of relatives and friends also survive.

Humbly Submitted The Family
