Lillian Moffitt Thomas, age 84, was promoted to her heavenly home on January 4, 2017 at 8:07 pm at Duke University Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Willard Lorenzo Thomas, her father, Robert Lee Moffitt, her mother, Bessie Farmer Moffitt, and her brother Charlie Henry Moffitt. She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Ann Thomas of Burlington, Mary Angela Garner (Tommy) of Burlington, and Miriam Thomas Carver (Carl Ray) of Roxboro, 3 grandchildren: Ray Pruitt, Jr. (Ruth), Candice Harrod (John), and Rebecca Garner (Patrick), and 6 great grandchildren: Benji, David, Alex, Caroline, Kathryn, and Garrett.
She is also survived by one sister, Catherine Murray of Burlington, and one brother, Colon Lee Moffitt of Burlington.
She loved to be outdoors camping with the family, gardening, and fishing. She took great pleasure in fishing in private ponds.
