Lillian Kolka decided to spend Valentine’s Day with her husband Alvin Kolka this year. She was born November 5, 1930 to the Late Steve and Victoria (Zaucha) Barnella in Bay City, Michigan. On September 23rd in 1950, she married Alvin Kolka in grayling, Michigan. She worked 35 years as a practical nurse at Samaritan and General Hospital. She was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church where she assisted with many of the church dinners and helped with bingo, she was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church and a former member of Foresters #1258 in Saginaw, Michigan. Mom and dad were always reaching out to help friends and family when ever needed. Lillian was always checking up with everyone’s welfare. Lillian’s face lit up whenever she got to see and hold any of her grandchildren and her dog, Kookie.

She leaves behind her three children, Deborah (Thomas) Nagel of Midland, Gregory (Mari) Kolka of Bay City and Heidi (Rick) Albretsen of Bay City; nine grandchildren, Kerri (Mark) Kroll, Jeremy (Carrie) Austin, Eric (Angie), Sean (Laura) Austin, Jeremy (Cherish) Nagel, Ted (Jennifer) Nagel, Kristi Kolka, Heather (Tim) Ramos, Stacy (Steven) Marcet, Kyle (Haley) Albretson and Hunter Kolka; thirty five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and sister, Betsy (Cecil) Zettel. In addition to her parents, Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Kolka who passed away September 27, 2010, three brothers, Edward Barnella, William Barnella and Ricky Barnella; sister, Evelyn Pinkerton and great grandchild, ­­­Sawyer Marcet.
