Lillian Edwards, 87, of O’Fallon, Ill., born August 13, 1919 in Barberton, Ohio, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Ill. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Volunteered for the Red Cross at Scott Air Force Base, Our World Day Care, Kids Day Out, helped start the O’Fallon Food Pantry, and volunteered in the schools Library at Marie Schaeffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Edwards, parents Harry & Lina Saurer (nee Falconer), step-mother Carrie Stauffer Saurer, brothers Loyal & Arthur Saurer, sister Dorothy Hall. Lillian is survived by her 4 children; Harold Jr. (Judy) Edwards of Opelika, Alabama, Linda (Robert) Pribble of Belleville, Ill., John (Laura) Edwards of Huntington Beach, Cali., Dawn (Gary) Largent of Mascoutah, Ill., brother; Karl Saurer of Phoenix, Az. 2 sister in-laws; Barbara Yakus of Barberton, Ohio, Patty (Roy) Gadfield of Orrville, Ohio, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
