Lillian Carmen Whiles
March 21, 1931 – January 25, 2022
Lillian Whiles, a resident of Harlingen since 1980, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Lillian was born in New York City on March 31, 1931. At age seventeen she entered a Catholic Cloistered Order of Nuns and remained there for twenty years. Lillian taught in Missouri, Harlingen, and McAllen as a Special Education teacher. She was also a Counselor in Harlingen, Raymondville, and Lyford. Lillian was licensed as a counselor and did extensive work in her church counseling couples and families and prepared many couples for marriage. She was a coordinator and teacher of RCIA in her parish of Immaculate Heart of Mary. She began work at Sunglo as a therapist for the elderly and remained in this position until June of 1999 at which time she went to work for Tropical Texas Center as Supervisor of the Children’s Unit.
Mrs. Whiles is survived by her son, Skipper, and daughter-in-law, Crystian.
Lillian will be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
